WRITING MUSIC

I started with a strong interest in song writing and lyrics around 1983. The acoustic guitar was greatfor writing ballads. I spent a lot of time and practice teaching myself all of the Major, Minor and 7th chords along with variations. What naturally came after that for me was a finger picking style which provided some great melodies and also helped through the creative process. I wrote a fair number of songs and lyrics over the years following & really enjoyed it however I soon realized limitations with the guitar. I wanted very much to get invloved in the MIDI scene using computers which could provide all the sounds I wanted. There are still some rare moments where I would like to just drop everything for a year or so & get invlolved in creating music using computers. I know there's some great composing software out there and tools etc. It would be a lot of fun. Never enough time eh? :) Anyways here is a song I wrote a good while back. The lyrics are entirely fiction. If you can play the piano or guitar let me know how terrible it sounds :) I would usually play this one at a slow pace but if it sounds too dragged you may want to pick it up a bit. I had a lot of fun those years writing music...
